CVE-2018-5231 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the ForgotLoginDetails resource of Atlassian Jira, affecting versions prior to 7.6.6, 7.7.0 through 7.7.3, 7.8.0 through 7.8.3, and 7.9.0 through 7.9.1. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to disrupt service by repeatedly sending requests to the vulnerable endpoint. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), the attack requires no user interaction or privileges, but its impact is limited to availability. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
