CVE-2018-4849 is an improper certificate validation vulnerability affecting Siemens Siveillance VMS Video for Android and iOS versions prior to V12.1a (2018 R1). An attacker in a privileged network position could intercept encrypted communication between the app and a server, read data, and write data, compromising confidentiality and integrity. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 7.4) requires an attacker to generate a certificate with an identical checksum to a trusted one, but no user interaction is needed.
