CVE-2018-3070 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting the MySQL Server component (specifically mysqldump) in Oracle MySQL versions 5.5.60 and prior, 5.6.40 and prior, and 5.7.22 and prior, as well as products from Canonical, Debian, and NetApp. This easily exploitable flaw allows a low-privileged attacker with network access to cause a complete and repeatable crash of the MySQL Server, resulting in a CVSS 3.0 Base Score of 6.5 (Medium) due to high availability impact. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage surrounding this vulnerability.
