CVE-2018-19240 describes a critical buffer overflow vulnerability in the network.cgi component of specific TRENDnet TV-IP110WN and TV-IP121WN IP camera firmware versions. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to hijack control flow by sending a specially crafted POST request, leading to complete compromise of the device. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (Critical), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no user interaction required, enabling full confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. Despite its severity, there is currently no public exploit code available (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), nor is it listed on CISA's KEV catalog, and it has received no significant community discussion or media coverage.
