An attacker can send a specially crafted S7 communication packet to a CPU's communication interface (Ethernet, PROFIBUS, or MPI) to trigger the flaw. This vulnerability has a CVSS v3 score of 7.5 (High), indicating a network-based attack with low complexity, requiring no privileges or user interaction, and resulting in a complete loss of availability for the CPU until a manual restart. As of the advisory publication, there was no known public exploitation, and there is no readily available exploit code or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
