CVE-2018-15427 describes a critical vulnerability in Cisco Video Surveillance Manager (VSM) Software running on specific Cisco Connected Safety and Security Unified Computing System (UCS) platforms. This flaw allows an unauthenticated, remote attacker to log in as the root user due to undocumented, static default credentials. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low complexity, enabling an attacker to execute arbitrary commands with full system control (CWE-798).
