CVE-2018-14660 describes a memory exhaustion vulnerability in GlusterFS server versions 4.1.4 and 3.1.2 and earlier, affecting Debian, Gluster, and Red Hat distributions. An authenticated remote attacker can repeatedly use the GF_META_LOCK_KEY extended attribute to create multiple locks for a single inode, leading to server memory exhaustion. This medium-severity flaw (CVSS 6.5) has a low attack complexity and requires authentication, but can result in high availability impact.
