CVE-2018-10846

21
FAUCET Score

CVE-2018-10846 describes a cache-based side-channel vulnerability in GnuTLS, affecting products from Canonical, Debian, Fedora, GNU, and Red Hat. This medium-severity flaw (CVSS 5.6) allows a sophisticated attacker, in a cross-VM setting, to potentially recover plaintext data by combining a "Just in Time" Prime+Probe attack with a Lucky-13 attack using specially crafted packets. While the potential impact is high confidentiality loss, the attack complexity is high and requires local access. There is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
