CVE-2018-0443 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) Software, stemming from improper input validation in the CAPWAP protocol component. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this by sending malicious CAPWAP Discovery Request packets. This can cause connected access points to temporarily disconnect and reconnect, leading to a brief service outage. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, resulting in high availability impact.
