CVE-2018-0229

25
FAUCET Score

CVE-2018-0229 describes a session fixation vulnerability in the SAML SSO implementation for Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, ASA Software, and FTD Software. An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this by tricking a user into clicking a crafted link and authenticating with their Identity Provider, allowing the attacker to hijack the valid authentication token and establish an AnyConnect session. Rated Medium severity (CVSS 6.5), the attack requires user interaction (UI:R) but has low attack complexity (AC:L) and no privileges are required (PR:N). A successful exploit could lead to high confidentiality impact (C:H) by granting unauthorized access. There is no evidence of active exploitation, and no public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB) is available. Community discussion is minimal, with only one Reddit mention.
