CVE-2018-0194 describes multiple command injection vulnerabilities within the CLI parser of Cisco IOS XE Software. An authenticated, local attacker could exploit these flaws by submitting malicious CLI commands that are not properly sanitized, allowing them to break out of the CLI. Successful exploitation grants access to the underlying Linux shell with root privileges, enabling arbitrary command execution on the affected device. This vulnerability carries a CVSSv3 score of 7.8 (High) due to its local attack vector, low complexity, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
