CVE-2017-8011 describes a critical vulnerability affecting EMC ViPR SRM, Storage M&R, VNX M&R, and M&R for SAS Solution Packs, stemming from undocumented accounts with default passwords for Webservice Gateway and RMI JMX components. This allows a remote attacker, knowing the default credentials, to execute arbitrary web service and remote procedure calls on the affected systems. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its high severity and EPSS score, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
