CVE-2017-7807 describes a vulnerability in Mozilla Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Thunderbird versions prior to 55 and 52.3 respectively, where an attacker could hijack a URL within a domain using AppCache fallback mechanisms. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 8.1) could lead to high confidentiality and integrity impacts, as it allowed for serving malicious files from a sub-path. While the attack requires user interaction (UI:R), it can be executed remotely (AV:N). Despite its severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
