CVE-2017-5700 describes an insufficient password storage protection vulnerability in the system firmware of specific Intel NUC7i3, NUC7i5, and NUC7i7 models (versions BN0049 and below). This flaw allows a local attacker to bypass Administrator and User passwords by directly accessing the inadequately secured password storage. With a CVSS v3 score of 8.4 (High), this vulnerability presents a significant risk, enabling high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability with low attack complexity and no user interaction required. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
