CVE-2017-3189 describes an arbitrary file upload vulnerability in the dotCMS administration panel's "Push Publishing" feature, affecting versions 3.7.1 and earlier of dotCMS Enterprise Pro. The vulnerability arises from a lack of file type validation when decompressing uploaded "Bundle" tar.gz archives. This flaw, when combined with a path traversal vulnerability (CVE-2017-3188), can lead to remote command execution with the privileges of the dotCMS application user.
