CVE-2017-16830

CVE-2017-16830 describes an integer overflow vulnerability in the print_gnu_property_note function of GNU Binutils 2.29.1 on 32-bit platforms. This flaw allows a remote attacker to trigger a denial of service (segmentation fault and application crash) or potentially other impacts by providing a specially crafted ELF file. Rated 7.8 HIGH, exploitation requires user interaction (UI:R) and local access (AV:L), but with low attack complexity (AC:L).
