28
FAUCET Score

CVE-2017-16671 describes a buffer overflow vulnerability in Asterisk Open Source versions prior to 13.18.1, 14.7.1, and 15.1.1, and Certified Asterisk prior to 13.13-cert7. This flaw occurs due to a lack of size checking when setting the user field for Party B on a Call Detail Record (CDR), allowing an attacker to write past the end of the allocated buffer with an arbitrarily large string. Rated with a CVSS score of 8.8 (High), this vulnerability is network-exploitable with low privileges and no user interaction, potentially leading to high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage surrounding this CVE.
