CVE-2017-16306 describes multiple exploitable stack-based buffer overflow vulnerabilities in the PubNub message handler of Insteon Hub firmware version 1012. An authenticated attacker can trigger this critical vulnerability (CVSS 9.9) by sending specially crafted commands via the PubNub service, leading to arbitrary data overwrites and potential full compromise of the device. While the vulnerability is severe, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding it.
