CVE-2017-16299 describes multiple critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerabilities in the PubNub message handler of Insteon Hub firmware version 1012. An authenticated attacker can exploit this by sending specially crafted commands via the PubNub service, specifically through the "cc" channel, to overwrite arbitrary data. With a CVSS score of 9.9 (CRITICAL), this vulnerability allows for complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability with low attack complexity. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
