CVE-2017-16266 describes multiple stack-based buffer overflow vulnerabilities in the Insteon Hub (firmware version 1012) PubNub message handler. Specifically, specially crafted commands sent via the PubNub service can overwrite arbitrary data due to an unbounded strcpy operation on the 'grp' key. This critical vulnerability, rated 9.9 CVSS, allows an authenticated attacker to achieve high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability over the network with low attack complexity. Despite its severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
