17
FAUCET Score

CVE-2017-12274 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in Cisco Aironet 1560, 2800, and 3800 Series Access Points, caused by insufficient validation of Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) frames. An unauthenticated, Layer 2 radio frequency (RF) adjacent attacker can exploit this by sending a malformed EAP frame, forcing the AP to reload and potentially requiring a manual power cycle for recovery. With a CVSS score of 6.5 (Medium), this vulnerability has a low attack complexity and no user interaction required, but only affects availability. There is no public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), nor is it listed in the KEV catalog, indicating no active exploitation. Community discussion and media coverage are minimal.
