CVE-2017-11499 describes a hash flooding remote Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability affecting multiple versions of Node.js (v4.x, v5.x, v6.x, v7.x, and v8.x). The vulnerability stemmed from a constant HashTable seed due to V8 snapshots, allowing attackers to trigger performance degradation. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable with low attack complexity, leading to a complete loss of availability. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
