CVE-2016-5422 describes an improper authorization vulnerability in the web console of Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (JON) versions prior to 3.3.7. This flaw allows authenticated users to elevate their privileges to administrator by crafting a specific POST request to add a super user. With a CVSS v3 score of 8.8 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
