CVE-2016-5222

22
FAUCET Score

CVE-2016-5222 describes a vulnerability in Google Chrome versions prior to 55.0.2883.75 on Mac, Windows, and Linux, and 55.0.2883.84 on Android, where incorrect handling of invalid URLs allowed a remote attacker to spoof the Omnibox (URL bar) content through a specially crafted HTML page. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 6.5) requires user interaction (UI:R) and could lead to high integrity impact (I:H) by deceiving users about the authenticity of a website. There is no evidence of active exploitation, no known public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), and it has received limited community discussion and media coverage.
