CVE-2016-4482 is a local information disclosure vulnerability affecting the Linux kernel through version 4.6, specifically within the drivers/usb/core/devio.c component. A local attacker can exploit a flaw in the proc_connectinfo function, which fails to initialize a data structure, to obtain sensitive information from kernel stack memory via a crafted USBDEVFS_CONNECTINFO ioctl call. With a CVSS v3 score of 6.2 (Medium), this vulnerability allows for high confidentiality impact without requiring user interaction or elevated privileges. There is currently no public exploit code available (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), nor is there any evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
