CVE-2016-4474 describes a critical vulnerability in Red Hat OpenStack Platform 8.0 (Liberty) and 7.0 (Kilo) director overcloud images, where a default root password of "ROOTPW" is hardcoded. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers on the adjacent network to gain full administrative access to affected systems. With a CVSS v3 score of 8.8 (High), successful exploitation could lead to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
