CVE-2016-2275 describes a critical access control vulnerability in the web interface of Advantech/B+B SmartWorx VESP211-EU (firmware 1.7.2) and VESP211-232 (firmware 1.5.1 and 1.7.2) devices. The flaw allows remote attackers to bypass client-side access controls by modifying JavaScript, enabling them to perform administrative actions. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
