CVE-2016-15055 is a directory traversal vulnerability affecting JVC VN-T IP-camera models with firmware versions up to August 22, 2016. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this flaw in the checkcgi endpoint, which accepts a user-controlled file parameter, to read arbitrary files on the device. With a CVSS score of 8.7 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no user interaction required, leading to high confidentiality impact.
