CVE-2016-1427 describes an information disclosure vulnerability in the System Configuration Protocol (SCP) core messaging interface of Cisco Prime Network Registrar versions 8.2 prior to 8.2.3.1 and 8.3 prior to 8.3.2. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to obtain sensitive information by sending specially crafted SCP messages. Rated with a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), the attack requires no user interaction and has high confidentiality impact, but no integrity or availability impact. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, nor is public exploit code available, and the vulnerability has received minimal community discussion or media coverage.
