CVE-2016-1404 describes a critical vulnerability in Cisco UCS Invicta 4.3, 4.5, and 5.0.1, where a hardcoded GnuPG encryption key is uniformly used across all customer installations. This flaw allows remote attackers to bypass cryptographic protections by intercepting network traffic to an Autosupport server and leveraging knowledge of this shared key. With a CVSS v3 score of 7.5 (HIGH), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low complexity, potentially leading to a complete compromise of confidentiality.
