32
FAUCET Score

CVE-2016-1243 describes a critical stack-based buffer overflow in the unADF utility's extractTree function, affecting Debian Linux and unADF Project products. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by supplying a specially crafted archive containing an excessively long pathname. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (Critical), it presents a severe risk due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its high severity and significant community discussion (more than 99% of all CVEs), there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, and no public exploit code is available in Metasploit, Nuclei, or ExploitDB.
