CVE-2016-11022 describes a critical remote code execution vulnerability affecting NETGEAR Prosafe WC9500, WC7600, and WC7520 wireless controllers. An authenticated remote attacker can exploit this flaw by injecting shell metacharacters into the reqMethod parameter of login_handler.php, gaining root privileges. With a CVSS score of 7.2 (HIGH), this vulnerability allows for complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected devices. Despite its severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
