32
FAUCET Score

CVE-2016-10190 describes a critical heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in FFmpeg versions prior to 2.8.10, 3.0.5, 3.1.6, and 3.2.2. This flaw, located in libavformat/http.c, allows remote web servers to execute arbitrary code on affected systems by sending a specially crafted HTTP response containing a negative chunk size. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), this vulnerability poses a significant risk due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and high potential for confidentiality, integrity, and availability compromise. Despite its severity, there is currently no public exploit code available (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), nor is it listed in the KEV catalog, and it has garnered minimal community discussion or media coverage.
