CVE-2015-6833 describes a directory traversal vulnerability in the PharData class within PHP versions prior to 5.4.44, 5.5.28, and 5.6.12. This flaw allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files to a system by crafting a malicious ZIP archive containing ".." sequences in entry names, which are then mishandled during an extractTo operation. Rated with a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability has a low attack complexity and can lead to high integrity impact without requiring user interaction or privileges.
