CVE-2015-6040 is a critical memory corruption vulnerability affecting multiple versions of Microsoft Excel, Excel for Mac, Excel Viewer, and Office Compatibility Pack. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this flaw by enticing a user to open a specially crafted Office document, leading to arbitrary code execution with a CVSS score of 9.3.
