27
FAUCET Score

CVE-2014-4345 describes an off-by-one error in the krb5_encode_krbsecretkey function within the LDAP KDB module of kadmind in MIT Kerberos 5 versions 1.6.x through 1.11.x (before 1.11.6) and 1.12.x (before 1.12.2). This vulnerability allows remote authenticated users to trigger a denial of service via a buffer overflow, and potentially execute arbitrary code, by repeatedly using the "cpw -keepold" command. With a CVSS score of 8.5, it is considered highly severe, requiring network access and medium attack complexity, with full confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts. There is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
