CVE-2013-1612 describes a buffer overflow vulnerability in the secars.dll component of the management console within Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) versions 12.1.x prior to 12.1.3 and Symantec Endpoint Protection Center (SPC) Small Business Edition 12.0.x. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary code with high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While not actively exploited in the wild, a proof-of-concept exploit exists on ExploitDB, and the vulnerability has received minimal community discussion or media coverage.
