CVE-2013-1183 describes a critical buffer overflow vulnerability within the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) functionality of Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) Manager components, affecting versions 1.0 and 1.1 before 1.1(1j), and 1.2 before 1.2(1b). This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by sending specially crafted UDP packets. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this vulnerability is highly severe due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its high severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
