61
FAUCET Score

CVE-2012-5962 is a critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the unique_service_name function of the portable SDK for UPnP Devices (libupnp) version 1.3.1. This flaw allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by sending a crafted UDP packet with an overly long DeviceType field. With a CVSS score of 10.0, it represents a severe risk due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While not currently on CISA's KEV catalog, a Metasploit module for this vulnerability exists (EDB-24455), indicating readily available exploit code, despite minimal community discussion or media coverage.
