CVE-2012-5362 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the IPv6 implementation of Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, XP, and Server 2003. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this by flooding a target with ICMPv6 Neighbor Solicitation messages, leading to a system crash or unresponsiveness. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no user interaction required, resulting in a complete loss of availability. Despite its severity, there is no known public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), and it is not listed in CISA's KEV catalog, indicating no active exploitation.
