CVE-2012-4456

24
FAUCET Score

CVE-2012-4456 describes an authentication bypass vulnerability in OpenStack Keystone Essex and Folsom versions prior to 2012.1.2 and folsom-2, respectively. The flaw lies in the improper validation of X-Auth-Token within the OS-KSADM/services and tenant APIs, allowing unauthenticated attackers to read user roles or manage arbitrary services. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P), this vulnerability is considered highly severe due to its network-based attack vector, low access complexity, and potential for partial compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage surrounding this CVE.
