CVE-2012-4193

23
FAUCET Score

CVE-2012-4193 describes a security bypass vulnerability in Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird, and SeaMonkey versions prior to their respective 16.0.1/10.0.9/2.13.1 releases. The flaw stems from an omitted security check in the defaultValue function during security wrapper unwrapping, allowing remote attackers to bypass the Same Origin Policy. This medium-complexity attack (AV:N/AC:M/Au:N) could lead to information disclosure (C:P) by reading Location object properties or arbitrary code execution (I:P/A:P). There is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage for this CVE.
