CVE-2012-2626 describes an authentication bypass vulnerability in the cgi-bin/admin.cgi component of Plixer Scrutinizer (also known as Dell SonicWALL Scrutinizer) versions prior to 9.5.0. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to create administrative accounts by leveraging a missing token authentication requirement for the userprefs action. With a CVSS score of 5.0, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to a potential impact of unauthorized account creation.
