CVE-2012-0231 describes a critical memory corruption vulnerability in PRLicenseMgr.exe within GE Intelligent Platforms Proficy Plant Applications 5.0 and earlier. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to cause a denial of service or potentially execute arbitrary code by sending a specially crafted TCP session to port 12401. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no authentication required, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
