CVE-2011-0188 describes an integer truncation vulnerability in the VpMemAlloc function of Ruby's BigDecimal class (versions 1.9.2-p136 and earlier), affecting Apple Mac OS X before 10.6.7 and other platforms. This flaw allows attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service by crafting large BigDecimal values within a 64-bit process. With a CVSS score of 6.8 (medium severity), it is remotely exploitable with medium attack complexity, potentially leading to partial confidentiality, integrity, and availability compromise.
