CVE-2010-5172

CVE-2010-5172 describes a race condition in Panda Internet Security 2010 on Windows XP. This vulnerability, known as an argument-switch or KHOBE attack, allows a local attacker to bypass kernel-mode hook handlers by manipulating user-space memory during handler execution, enabling the execution of otherwise blocked dangerous code. With a CVSS score of 6.2, it has high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability, but requires high attack complexity and local access.
