CVE-2010-1574

CVE-2010-1574 describes a critical vulnerability in Cisco Industrial Ethernet (IE) 3000 series switches running IOS 12.2(52)SE and 12.2(52)SE1. The vulnerability stems from the use of default, easily guessable SNMP community strings ("public" for read-only and "private" for read-write access). This allows unauthenticated remote attackers to modify device configurations or extract sensitive information. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this flaw presents a severe risk, enabling full compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability with low attack complexity.
