CVE-2010-0731

20
FAUCET Score

CVE-2010-0731 describes a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the gnutls_x509_crt_get_serial function of the GnuTLS library, affecting versions prior to 1.2.1 on big-endian, 64-bit platforms. This flaw allows remote attackers to bypass certificate revocation list (CRL) checks and trigger a buffer overflow via a specially crafted X.509 certificate. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, potentially leading to partial confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts. There is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or Metasploit/Nuclei modules, and community discussion and media coverage are minimal.
