CVE-2009-2346 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the IAX2 protocol implementation of various Asterisk and Sangoma products, including Asterisk Open Source versions 1.2.x, 1.4.x, 1.6.0.x, and 1.6.1.x, as well as specific Business Edition and s800i versions. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to exhaust call numbers by initiating numerous IAX2 message exchanges, leading to a complete denial of service. With a CVSS score of 7.8 (High), it is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no authentication required.
