CVE-2009-1958 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the charon daemon of strongSWAN versions prior to 4.3.1. This flaw allows remote attackers to crash the service by sending an IKE_AUTH request missing either a TSi or TSr traffic selector, due to incorrect NULL checks. Rated with a CVSS score of 5.0 (medium severity), it is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no authentication required, leading to a partial denial of service. There is no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage surrounding this vulnerability.
